Meet the manager

Questions, concerns or some positive feedback to share about our services? Join us for our next Meet the Manager session for your chance to speak directly to the senior managers and directors in charge of the Southern network.

Your chance to speak to our senior management team

Our core Meet the Manager sessions take place at London stations during the morning peak from 07:30 to 09:30 unless stated otherwise. In response to customer requests, we have also added some evening peak sessions which will take place from 16:30 to 18:30.

In 2019 we will also host Meet the Manager sessions at some of our outer stations, giving you a chance to have your say about issues affecting your local area. Dates will be published here when confirmed.

  • Three Bridges station on Tuesday 4 June from 07:00 - 09:00

  • London Bridge station on Wednesday 14 August from 16:30 - 18:30
  • London Victoria station on Thursday 10 October from 07:30 - 09:30
  • London Bridge station on Thursday 5 December from 07:30 - 09:30

Recent feedback

Thank you to all of our passengers who took the time to speak with members of our senior management team at London Bridge Station on 28 March 2019.

Senior managers from all areas of the business were in attendance to meet our customers and answer their questions.

Feedback themes from this session are detailed below.

Train capacity and overcrowding

We received information about some specific journeys and trains that were said to have particularly high demand.

Several of these services will be increased from 8 to 12 car trains e.g. the 1602 Bedford to Gatwick (London Bridge around 1721) and 1635 Bedford to Gatwick (London Bridge around 1751).

Furthermore, we have some additional services and extra stops being added on both the Thameslink and Southern network. Journey planners are up to date for customers to check the impact to their services, which will start on 19th May.

We received many enquiries about smart card availability and functionality from passengers across the network.

Brighton Main Line Blockade

Following the successful 9 day blockade in February, there are now just a few weekends left with work taking place on the major project to improve reliability and punctuality on the Brighton Main Line. These are Saturday 30/Sunday 31 March and Sunday 7 April. Also early morning only on Sunday 5 May.

Work planned for Saturday 6 April has been postponed to allow a full service to run on the day Brighton & Hove Albion will be playing in the FA Cup Semi Final at Wembley. A new date for this work will be announced shortly via
